Hi, my name is Ally and I am the Centre manager at Great Beginnings Marsden Park.
I have always had a passion for early years education and this started from a very young age. I was the older child in the street with all the younger children sitting around while I read them stories, the child in the school playground making sure the kindergarten children had friends to play with and I was the big sister who nurtured and cared for my baby sisters.
I have been in the early education sector since 1998 and have gained so much knowledge and skills along the way. I am very informed in child development through my many years working with children of all ages, as well as experiencing 1st hand being a mum of my own 2 boys.
I am extremely enthusiastic about the amazing facilities and services Great Beginnings Marsden Park offers. We have amazing natural light filled rooms and a state of the art outdoor play space. We offer a Reggio Emilia inspired program that instills a love of learning, exploration and curiosity. This program allows children to be active investigators and develop a sense of belonging and self-identity. We believe in play based learning and by allowing children to direct and lead their play, gives them a sense of ownership and empowerment. A Reggio Emilia program encourages children to touch, read, create, feel, play, move, share and listen with their friends, all the while learning all the skills they need to live and thrive in the early stages of their development. These skills are learnt best in the first 5 years of a child’s life and will stay with them as dispositions that will shape them for life.
I believe all children are unique and each child is capable. I believe in encouraging children’s independence and allowing them time and space to work out these challenging situations. This in turn prepares them for life’s many challenges and allows them to learn valuable life skills. I want all children who are enrolled to feel valued, respected and their voice to be heard.
As an educator, our job is to build strong, trusting, respectful relationships with children which will allow them to feel safe, loved and secure so they can actively learn. I understand that without those relationships, learning cannot take place.
I am a strong believer in “It takes a village to raise a child”. This means that it takes an entire community to raise a child. I am passionate about community involvement, and at Great Beginnings Marsden Park the children will be actively involved in the local community. Parents will be encouraged to participate within the program and we will work together in collaboration to be a village for your child so they can reach their full potential.
