We are excited to announce the opening of Bendigo’s newest early education centre. This brand new state-of-the-art facility is conveniently located in the Epsom Village Shopping Centre and operates from 6:30am to 6.30pm week days to provide quality care and education for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.

Our centre has been designed to provide families with a range of services including: nutritionally balanced meals, nappies and specially designed development programs for all ages including a Kindergarten program for children aged 3 – 5 years.

At Great Beginnings we will provide a professional, natural and progressive environment with a holistic approach. We listen, respect and act in the best interest of all children. Children have the right to access a high quality positive early childhood education in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

We believe it is important to work in partnership with families to promote a smooth transition between home and our service. We value families as the “first” teachers of children and encourage and collaborate with them to gain a shared understanding of children’s life styles and beliefs.

Those connections between home, the service and wider community are maintained through meaningful relationships. We promote diversity and culture through celebrating and acknowledging different events and celebrations at the centre.

Our centre proudly offers a kindergarten/preschool program to ensure your child is supported for their transition to school every step of the way. With a focus on language, literacy, numeracy, social skills and more your child will become Big School Ready.

How long have you been working in childcare?

15 years.

What is your favourite part of working at the centre?

Watching children make discoveries, when you are able to recognise the moment children acquire new skills or knowledge it is incredibly fulfilling. I also love cuddling the babies!

What qualifications do you hold?

Diploma of Children Services, Certificate III Professional Writing and Editing and studying a Bachelor of Early Learning.

What are you most proud of at your centre?

The dedicated educators that go above and beyond to establish meaningful relationships with children and their families.

What is your philosophy about educating children?

I believe first and foremost that children learn through play – it is their work. For children to play successfully and therefore acquire knowledge we must ensure feel safe, secure and supported.

What makes your team/centre special?

The absolutely stunning building design and resources! I was blown away at the first open day I attended by the harmonious gardens, large open rooms and natural light. The team of educators are committed to ensuring that we constantly guided by the children and that everything we do is for them.
