How long have you been working in childcare?
What is your favourite part of working at the centre?
The team and homely feel we have created
What qualifications do you hold?
Diploma in children services
What are you most passionate about?
Creating a space that both children and family feel supported, secure and comfortable to attend.
What are you most proud of at your centre?
Again I’d say the team and the second home feeling we have created together.
What is your favourite inspirational quote?
In reference to working with child my favourite quote is – They may forget your name but, they will never forget how you made them feel – Maya Angelou
What inspired you to become an educator?
Just being an apart of a child’s learning, journey and growth inspired me.
What values are most important to you in your team members?
That they care! Passion drive and commitment is the values I think are most important.
What is your philosophy about educating children?
I believe in quote ‘An educator takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart’.
What makes your team/centre special?
We have always been like a family at this centre. The team have a great energy and put a lot of love into what they do.
As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
A professional dancer. Growing up I danced many genres from Latin, Ballroom to Hip Hop, Jazz and Tap. Dancing was always an outlet for me and a way to feel free of thought.
Apart from that I always also wanted to work with children as that was also where my heart was.
What is one of your hobbies?
Dancing was always a hobby.
But now just quality time with my son and partner is what I enjoy the most!
Anything further to add?
I am a mum of 4-and-a-half-year-old boy and currently 6 months pregnant with a baby girl.
My son attends the Kinder room at the centre and in the future wouldn’t hesitate on bringing my baby girl as I know the educators at this centre would give the love, care and support she would need. The warmth from the educators you receive gives you comfort that your child is spending time with educators who really care. The centre also looks loved from the efforts that the educators have put into the studios.
